Developing Cheerleading in Pakistan

The Pakistan Cheer Union Association is an organization that was established to serve as the National Governing Body for Sport Cheering in Pakistan. Our objective is to help grow and develop interest and participation in cheer throughout the United States; and represent Pakistan in international cheer competitions.

Safety Education

Proper training and trust in an organization and its credentialing is paramount in providing safety to all our athletes. PCUA, with its commitment to furthering cheer safety, has compiled vital training into comprehensive memberships that focuses on coaches’ education surrounding program and athlete safety.

History of cheerleading

Established in 1898, Cheerleading (also referred to as “Cheer” in its abbreviated form) is one of ICU’s discipline groups that can include (depending on the division) skills such as a Cheer / Crowd Leading, Partner Stunts, Pyramids, Motions, Tumbling, Jumps, Team Choreography, etc. Cheerleading was originally established to energise and to entertain crowds at sport events, and this tradition still continues to this day around the world. In the 1970’s, due to its popularity, the Cheerleading competition format was added which has developed exponentially and globally within the competition formats, of Routine, Urban Cheer, Game Day, Partner & Group Stunt (for commercial entities) and STUNT competition structures?

History of performance cheer

HISTORY OF PERFORMANCE CHEER INTERNATIONAL CHEER UNION Established in 1928, Performance Cheer (also referred to as “pom Team” “Drill Team previously “Cheerdance ” and now “PC” in abbreviated form) is one of ICU’s discipline groups that include skills common for Pom & Drill Teams in various genres or styles commonly seen at sporting events that include Pom, Hip Hop, Jazz & High Kick. Originally established with a closer collaboration with sporting event musical marching bands (for music access) to energise and to entertain crowds, Performance Cheer has evolved greatly to also include more performances to recorded music & collaboration with its fellow Cheerleading Teams. This same Performance Cheer Game tradition (coordinating with musical bands, recorded music & Cheerleading Teams) continues to this day around the world. In the 1970’s, due to its popularity, the Performance Cheer competition format was added which has developed exponentially and globally within the competition formats of Routine & Game Day (Team and Doubles) for each of the 4 Performance Cheer genres.
